No one tells our story better than our founder, Michael Sher.
Here is the background on how Groupdolists got started.
After spending eight years as co-founder of Send Word Now, helping that company grow from zero to thousands of customers and tens of millions in revenue, I decided to take a break from the crisis/emergency management world. I went off to build something completely unrelated: a productivity tool to help me organize my life better. In 2012, the idea started to take on a life of its own. Before I knew it, we had raised our first $100,000, secured a development team, and started building a better way to organize ourselves and our teams through a consumer-focused app that became Centrallo.

How we grew up and changed the direction.
Four years later, in early 2016, we started receiving feedback from random segments of our 50,000+ global user base, many of whom also use Centrallo to organize their professional lives. They consistently requested collaboration functionality to make the application even more valuable to them. Their feedback was critical in helping us realize that there was a huge gap to fill in corporate and government “team” collaboration, especially during times of crisis and emergencies. We validated our assumptions by speaking with existing relationships at Walmart, Disney, U.S. Department of Interior, and dozens of others.
The resounding “yesses” encouraged us to redirect our energy toward building an enterprise team collaboration and coordination platform like no other. We started by improving Centrallo’s core capabilities to satisfy major centralized crisis management pain points for security directors, emergency managers, BCP, resiliency and recovery managers – all of whom are responsible for protecting employees, organizational assets, brand, reputation, and more.
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
We named our platform Groupdolists (think to-do list for an individual but now for teams). The rest is quickly becoming history. We are hyper-focused on building the simplest, most efficient and fastest front-line team coordination platform for emergency and incident managers — an area that we know we very well.
We have earned the loyal support of some former Send Word Now investors, some former Send Word Now employees, along with dozens of the largest brands in the world who have taken notice of the mark we intend to leave again.
